SKSG Toverlantaarn Tummetot

SKSG Toverlantaarn Tummetot is our anthroposophical daycare centre at Lauwersstraat 3 in Groningen. Every day we bake fresh bread together with the children and sing a lot; this is part of our warm, homely atmosphere in which every child receives plenty of personal attention. We work from an anthroposophical view of the human being and the world: every child is a unique personality following his or her own life path and contributing something meaningful to the world. Our goal is therefore to guide children in discovering and developing their unique talents. Respect for each child and reverence for people, animals and the environment are central. Our spacious, bright daycare looks out onto a large private garden with fruit trees and a playground with natural play elements. We go outside twice a day; the fixed daily rhythm provides peace and regularity. Inside we use seasonal themes and celebrate the annual festivals. The toys are made of natural materials, deliberately not too pronounced in shape, function and colour, so that the child can give its own meaning to its play. The food is vegetarian, organic and, where possible, biodynamic, without unnecessary additives. We are affiliated with the Vrije School and provide care from 07:30 to 18:00.
