SKSG St. Franciscus

BSO St. Franciscus is a small-scale after-school care facility located within St. Franciscus primary school at Star Numanstraat 52 in Groningen. We provide care for up to 58 children aged 4 to 12 years. As part of Stichting Kinderopvang Stad Groningen (SKSG), we are committed to providing high-quality after-school care in a familiar and homely environment. Our BSO works directly with St. Franciscus primary school, ensuring children are picked up by our pedagogical staff immediately after school. This creates a smooth transition from school to after-school care. We offer both before-school care (VSO) and after-school care, and we are also open during study days and school holidays by arrangement. We believe that after an intensive school day, children need both relaxation and challenge. Therefore, we offer a wide range of activities where children can discover their talents. Our activities are divided into six pillars: Sports & Movement, Cooking & Nutrition, Nature & Sustainability, Arts & Culture, Science & Technology, and Equality & Happiness. From live Stratego in the outdoors to baking cookies with a traditional speculaas machine, and from exciting experiments during technology workshops to getting wonderfully dirty during Mud Day. Our pedagogical staff work according to the theory of Multiple Intelligences (MI), based on the understanding that each child has multiple intelligences and talents. We give children the space to choose for themselves: participate in activities or just relax. The BSO is a safe environment where children can be themselves, with healthy nutrition and sufficient physical activity at the center. Through the SKSG parent portal and Instagram, we keep parents informed about all their child's experiences. We are open to questions about parenting and are happy to think along with parents. At SKSG St. Franciscus, children find both fun and relaxation in a familiar setting.
