SKSG Paleis

SKSG Paleis is a warm and small-scale after-school care facility located inside the Nassauschool on Graaf Adolfstraat in Groningen. We exclusively provide care for children attending this school, ensuring a smooth and familiar transition from school to after-school care. Children are picked up on foot after school and can stay with us until around the age of eight. After that, they move on to SKSG Oranje, always in consultation with parents and the child. Our pedagogical approach is based on OPREIS, the vision of SKSG. This means we work from connection, give space to individuality, and encourage children to grow into independent and self-aware individuals. Respect for one another and each other's uniqueness is central to everything we do. We offer a safe and trusted environment where children are given the space to discover who they are and what they can do. The location features a challenging schoolyard where children can play every day. We also make use of the ‘Paviljoen’, the school’s playroom, and the shared art studio with Nassauschool. This studio is part of the school’s cultural profile and allows us to give art and culture a permanent place in our program. Our activity program is broad and aligned with the six pillars of SKSG: Sports & Movement, Cooking & Nutrition, Nature & Sustainability, Science & Technology, Art & Culture, and Hello World! We regularly work with external specialists who provide on-site workshops. These range from street dance and theatre to quiet corners for games or reading. We offer children freedom of choice and guide them in their play, always taking their individual needs into account.
