SKSG Kameleon

Welcome to SKSG Kameleon, our small-scale daycare centre located at Onnemaheerd 6-1 in the green Beijum district. Housed in the modern “Het Knikdak” building, we offer a warm, home-like environment on one vertical group for up to 14 children aged 0–4. The bright, spacious playroom is furnished with natural materials that invite curiosity and play. Adjacent is a sunny, fenced garden where children can run freely, build sandcastles and explore nature. Our pedagogical approach is child-centred and rhythm-based. A predictable daily routine alternates quiet moments with active play. Eating, sleeping, playing and discovering all unfold at a gentle pace that respects each child’s individual needs. Story time is a daily ritual: we gather on the sofa to share picture books that foster language development. We also work extensively with natural materials—sand, water, leaves and branches—so children learn about the world around them through hands-on play. Safety and trust are paramount. Our experienced pedagogical staff provide personal attention and guide every child’s development. A separate sleep room allows babies to rest undisturbed while toddlers and pre-schoolers continue playing. Bottle feeding is provided for the youngest according to their home schedule; older children enjoy healthy bread meals and nutritious snacks. We accommodate food allergies and parental preferences. SKSG Kameleon has been registered in the National Childcare Register since 1 January 2021 and operates under Stichting Kinderopvang Stad Groningen. We are closely connected to the neighbourhood: regular walks take us to the nearby park or playground. Parents are warmly invited to join us for reading, crafting or celebrating birthdays—with healthy treats, of course. Together we create a place where your child feels safe, seen and inspired to grow.
