SKSG Gruthoes

Welcome to SKSG Gruthoes, our pre-school playgroup located at Schoolstraat 19 in the heart of Oldehove. As part of SKSG Childcare, we have been providing pre-school care for toddlers aged 2 to 4 years since March 1, 2021, in a safe and familiar environment. At SKSG Gruthoes, we work with two fixed horizontal groups of maximum 16 toddlers per group, supervised by two qualified pedagogical staff members. Our children attend on fixed days: one group on Monday and Thursday mornings, the other on Tuesday and Friday mornings from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM. This regularity provides children with peace and predictability. Our vision is clear: children should feel welcome and have the space to develop their own identity. We actively observe and listen to each child's needs and try to empathize with their world. By following a fixed daily rhythm with daily rhythm cards, we create a familiar structure with alternating active and quiet moments. We stimulate your toddler's development through various activities such as singing together, arts and crafts, and reading aloud. We consciously work on language development and social skills. Children learn to interact with each other, help each other, and play together. These interactions contribute to their social development and they discover the effect of their behavior on others. Our spacious garden offers plenty of opportunities for outdoor play and natural discoveries. We believe it's important that children can also play and learn outdoors. During the shared fruit and bread moment, we make time for cozy conversations and sing songs together. For new children, we offer a careful settling-in process. You can visit twice: first together with your child, then you let your toddler participate independently for a short period. We adjust this to what feels comfortable for you and your child. For food allergies or other dietary requirements, we naturally take your child's diet into account. We work according to the four-eyes principle: there are always two adults present for optimal safety. Parents who work or study can use childcare allowance. If you don't qualify for this, there is a subsidy available through the municipality of Westerkwartier.
