SKSG Groenewei

Welcome to SKSG Groenewei, our daycare centre in the green heart of Meerstad. Since 2020 we have been providing care and development for babies and toddlers in a warm, safe environment, together with Openbaar Onderwijs Groningen. Our location is part of the Integral Child Centre (IKC) Groenewei, where childcare, education and after-school care come together seamlessly under one roof. Development starts with us from just 6 weeks old. Our baby group Mimosa follows the Emmi Pikler approach: rest, regularity and space to develop one's own initiative are central. We follow your child's rhythm and tailor our care accordingly. Breastfeeding is naturally supported: you are always welcome to feed your child yourself or provide expressed milk. For the toddler groups Goudsbloem, Madelief and Klaproos we use the VVE programme Startblokken. Through play, children learn language, numeracy and social skills, always at their own pace and driven by their curiosity. Our pedagogical staff are specialised in guiding young children. They observe, identify and regularly discuss your child's development with you. We work with fixed daily routines that provide peace and security, while taking individual needs into account. The groups are horizontally structured: babies and toddlers are separated, allowing us to perfectly tailor activities and materials to your child's age and developmental stage. Outdoor play is an important part of our programme. We have our own secure outdoor space where children can romp, build sandcastles and discover nature. We also regularly take trips to the green areas surrounding Meerstad. Everything is designed to provide your child with a rich, safe and challenging environment in which to develop optimally. We are open every weekday from 7.30 am to 6.00 pm and offer customised care, without the option of half-day care. For questions or a tour, please contact our manager Julie Drenth.
