Welcome to SKSG Boegbeeld, our daycare centre located right in the heart of nature in Lewenborg. We are based in a charming farmhouse at Koerspad 3, next to the petting zoo and playground of Stichting de Zijlen. From the very first year of life we welcome children into an environment where being outdoors, discovery and play are central. Our youngest children (1-2 years) stay in the Ooievaarsnest. Here we follow the Emmi Pikler approach: we give babies plenty of space to explore and move on their own, provide tailored sensory activities and ensure a warm, stable bond with a maximum of three fixed pedagogical staff members per child. Rest, regularity and a familiar face are paramount. Toddlers from 2 years old join Beestenboel. In this horizontal group we combine childcare with preschool and offer at least 960 hours of pre-school education per year using the Piramide programme. Through play we work on social-emotional, motor and cognitive development. Toddlers can also take part in the Nijntje Movement Diploma. Everything we do revolves around nature experience. The children play outside every day, get to know the farm animals, do crafts with natural materials they have found and learn how the seasons change. We use sustainable materials and pay a lot of attention to healthy food and treats. Every toddler is assigned a personal mentor who is the contact person for parents and closely monitors the child’s development. Our team consists of experienced, enthusiastic pedagogical staff who see every child as unique. We work with a fixed daily structure, always taking individual needs into account.
