About this care

Welcome to S.K.O. Dwerguilen, our warm and small-scale daycare centre at Noordsingel 72 in the heart of Wezep. We are part of the Stichting Kindcentrum Oldebroek (SKO) and share a unique location with BSO Wijsneus and Peuteropvang de Uilenhorst inside De Uilenhorst primary school. This means brothers and sisters can often see each other, and the transition to primary school later on feels extra familiar—everything is already known and everyone knows each other.
At Dwerguilen we run a vertical group for up to 12 children aged 0–4. We follow a flexible or democratic parenting style: your child’s needs are central, within clear boundaries. We constantly look for a healthy balance between what the child needs, what we as pedagogical staff can offer, and what is feasible within group care. Every child experiences being seen and accepted.
Our day starts at 07:00 with free play in the home corner, construction corner, or with Duplo and puzzles. You can drop off your child until 09:15. Around 09:30 we eat fruit together at the table, then gather in a circle. We read a story and do an activity linked to the current theme from Uk & Puk—we start a new theme every six weeks. Afterwards we go outside: playing in the sandpit, cycling, running and climbing. Around 11:00 we do a craft activity related to the theme, and at 11:30 we have lunch together. In the afternoon most children take a nap, while the older ones play a game. At 15:00 fruit is served again and we sing songs. We close the day with another activity or a final playtime outside, after which children are picked up between 16:30 and 18:00.
Throughout the day we give plenty of attention to the very youngest: we give babies a bottle or fruit snack, offer cuddle moments and provide quiet sleeping spots. Meanwhile, the older children learn to look after the little ones and help where needed—together we grow into one close-knit, cheerful group.Read more
