Voorschool Sint Gerardus

Welcome to the preschool of St. Gerardus, located at Splitting 145 in the heart of Emmen. We provide toddler care for children aged 2.5 to 4 years in a safe, small-scale environment. Our team consists of the dedicated staff members Miss Karen, Miss Ivana and Miss Linda. They guide the children with personal attention and create a warm, familiar atmosphere. We follow the guidelines of Healthy Childcare: conscious handling of nutrition, exercise and nature is central. Through play, toddlers learn healthy behaviour that will benefit them for the rest of their lives. For this we use the recognised VVE programme Uk&Puk. The activities we offer cover the whole range of development: language development, numeracy, motor skills, social skills and norms and values. We also participate in 'Bewegen met Nijntje', a movement programme by the KNGU that lets children move in a playful way. Because our preschool is located in the same building as the primary school, the transition to group 1 is smooth. The children already know the spaces and the teachers, making the step to regular primary education smaller. We work in horizontal groups: children of the same age are together, allowing us to tailor activities optimally to their developmental level. Our preschool is open during 40 school weeks. You can choose from different sessions: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 08:15 to 14:15, and on Wednesday from 08:15 to 12:15 or from 12:30 to 16:30.
