Welcome to Sinne daycare and playgroup Sint Thomas, located at Bachstraat 61 in Leeuwarden. We are part of IKC Sint Thomas, an integrated child centre where education and childcare come together under one pedagogical vision: "A strong community where children discover the world through play and learning." Our location offers daycare for children from 10 weeks to 4 years old. We operate with two horizontal groups per day, separating infants and toddlers. Daycare is open daily from 7:30 AM to 6:30 PM. We also offer a playgroup for children aged 2 to 4 years, every morning from 8:15 AM to 12:15 PM. This form of early childhood education (VVE) aligns with the developmental needs of toddlers and prepares them for primary school. Our pedagogical approach is based on Adlerian individual psychology. We work from the core values of respect, involvement, responsibility, and resourcefulness. Children are given space to explore the world in their own way, while we encourage them to take responsibility for their own behaviour and interactions with others. We provide a safe and stimulating environment where learning through play is central. The location features a cosy, green outdoor space where children can play and explore. We believe it is important for children to move and experience both indoors and outdoors. Our pedagogical staff are professionally trained and work closely with the team from Sint Thomas School, with whom we have collaborated within IKC Sint Thomas since 2020.
