SDK Toermalijn

Welcome to SDK Toermalijn, our welcoming after-school care centre located at Dubbelsteynlaan West 58 in Dordrecht. We provide care for children aged 4 to 12 in a warm, safe environment where fun and development go hand in hand. Our BSO is housed in a spacious building with its own outdoor playground. Older children (from about 8 years up) have their own dedicated space: De Boomhut (The Tree House). This room, situated above the car park, is designed with lots of wood and natural light, giving it the authentic feel of a tree house. De Boomhut features a kitchen, a theatre, an art studio and several cosy corners where children can retreat. We follow our own developed programme called ‘Bso in Bloei’ (BSO in Bloom). This focuses not only on the children’s enjoyment, but also on activities that contribute to their personal development. Examples include cooking, arts and crafts, sports and games, as well as quiet moments and discovering new talents. We tailor our offer to the children’s interests and provide structure without too many rules. Our pedagogical staff are professional, caring and ready to see and hear every child. We work with fixed group leaders and maintain a child-staff ratio of no more than 10 children per carer. We are open Monday to Friday from 07:00 to 18:00.
