Welcome to Sam&siepie, our cozy toddler playgroup located on the edge of Deventer city center. We are housed in a characteristic building at Bierstraat 52, where we have been providing a second home for toddlers aged 2 to 4 for many years. Our location is named after the cat 'Siepie' from the beloved Jip and Janneke books by Annie M.G. Schmidt, which perfectly matches the playful and homely atmosphere we create for your child. At Sam&siepie, we work according to the 'pyramid method', a proven effective approach specifically developed for toddler development. This method centers around themes that connect with young children's world of experience. Think of themes like 'animals in the garden', 'traffic', or 'the forest'. Each theme comes to life through targeted activities that take place both indoors and outdoors. This way, children learn about the world around them through play while developing cognitively, socially-emotionally, and motorically. Our outdoor playground is a true paradise for toddlers. Here children can climb, clamber, and explore to their heart's content. For days when the weather is less cooperative, we use the gymnasium. This space offers plenty of opportunities for movement and play, where toddlers can release their energy while developing their gross motor skills. Additionally, we also use the schoolyard of primary school De Windroos, which provides extra space for outdoor play. Our team consists of qualified pedagogical staff who are ready every day with great enthusiasm and joy for you and your child. We believe in a warm, safe environment where every child can be themselves and develop at their own pace. The small scale of our location - with a maximum of 14 places - ensures that we can give personal attention to each child. Sam&siepie is open Monday through Friday from 08:30 to 12:00. During school holidays, the toddler playgroup is closed, allowing us to fully focus on your child's development during school weeks.
