Centrally located in Hillegom, with plenty of space to play both indoors and outdoors, Les Petits Robinson BSO de Prinsentuin provides after-school care for children aged 4 to 12. We pick up children from primary schools De Fontein, Meer en Dorp (Vossepark), Daltonschool, and Johannesschool. Once all children have been collected by our pedagogical staff from the schools, we first enjoy a drink and a snack together, usually around 3:30 PM. We discuss the highlights of the day—perhaps someone has a birthday, there was a school trip, or another fun activity, maybe even a CITO test. This is a moment to let go of the school day and transition into free time and relaxation. We also talk about the children’s own plans for the afternoon. Additionally, our pedagogical staff offer an activity, but children are free to join in or not. When the weather is dry, we always go outside to play, enjoy football, or whatever takes their fancy, or for the younger children, there are playgrounds with a sandbox and slide. "Everything you give attention to grows." With this in mind, we lovingly and passionately care for the children every day. With us, they can and may be themselves and follow their own development. The team is always there for everyone: the children, their parents, and also for each other. Sometimes we feel like one big family! Children are naturally creative! We therefore see creativity as an important pedagogical principle and draw inspiration from the Reggio Emilia approach. Young children do not yet express themselves (only) through language, but rather through movement, dance, clay, drawing, or crafts. We ensure that children can express themselves in their own way and adapt accordingly. We offer many creative activities, both indoors and outdoors. Child participation is very important to us, so we consult with the children about what they themselves would like. They help think about the layout, purchase of play materials, and the range of activities. At all Les Petits BSO locations, we offer parents the option to have their children enjoy a warm meal with us, provided there is sufficient interest.
