SKSG Regenboog

Welcome to SKSG Regenboog, our daycare centre located in the Vensterschool at Eikenlaan 288-3 in the Selwerd district of Groningen. We provide care for children aged 0 to 4 in a homely, safe environment where every child is free to be themselves. Because we share the building with primary school De Pendinghe, the step to formal schooling later on feels natural and familiar. Regenboog operates three horizontal core groups: Stars (0-2 yrs, max. 12 children), Clouds (1-4 yrs, max. 16 children) and Suns (2-4 yrs, max. 16 children). Each group has at least two regular pedagogical staff members who guide your child every day. For our youngest guests we guarantee no more than three familiar faces, so your baby always sees a trusted adult. We set aside time every morning and afternoon for a personal hand-over conversation, keeping you fully informed about your child’s experiences. We start each day together with a free healthy breakfast. After that the children enjoy plenty of fresh air in our sheltered, fenced garden stocked with challenging outdoor toys. Indoors we use development-focused play corners and organise movement activities in the shared space. Toddlers aged 2½ and older receive 16 hours per week of pre-school education (VVE), often together with the youngest reception-class pupils of De Pendinghe, making the eventual transition smooth and stress-free. Our strength lies in cultural diversity: children from dozens of countries play and learn together. We celebrate festivals from many cultures and actively invite parents to join in. Every child also has a dedicated mentor who tracks development and conducts parent meetings. A spare set of clothing is welcome; we always keep emergency clothes on site.
