Islamitisch Kindercentrum Al Medina Laak

Welcome to IKC Al Medina Laak, located at Peilstraat 27 in The Hague. As the second branch of the very first Islamic childcare centre in the Netherlands – officially opened on 1 January 2025 – we provide group care for children aged 0 to 4 years. Our daycare follows a mixed-age group structure: a maximum of 12 children per day, including up to 3 babies, so that younger and older toddlers can stimulate each other’s cognitive, social and communicative development. At IKC Al Medina Laak, Islamic identity is central. We devote daily attention to our faith in accordance with the Qur’an and the Sunnah of our Prophet (peace be upon him). At the same time, we create a safe, secure environment in which every child – regardless of nationality, culture or background – is free to discover themselves and the world around them. Our qualified pedagogical staff work according to six pedagogical skills that support your child’s development. Pre-school and Early Childhood Education (VVE) is standard with us: we offer two VVE groups in which every child is given equal opportunities. Daycare is open 49 weeks a year from 07:30 to 18:30; half-day care is possible. During recognised public holidays, Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha we are closed. Parents are informed well in advance. Our rooms are transparently arranged according to the four-eyes-and-ears principle, ensuring constant extra supervision. A baby monitor helps us keep a close eye on sleeping children. Every year we carry out a Risk Assessment for Safety and Health, and the Municipal Health Service and fire brigade inspect us regularly. In this way we guarantee a hygienic, safe place where your child feels at home and can grow with pleasure.
