POV Kinderwoud It Werflân

Welcome to POV Kinderwoud It Werflân, located in the multifunctional centre (MFC) at Master Kuiperswei 1 in Rottevalle. We provide toddler care for children aged 2 to 4 in a safe, familiar environment. Our pedagogical staff member Anna Baukje is the constant, friendly face of the group and works closely with the teachers of primary school It Werflân. This creates a seamless line in your child’s development and makes the transition to Group 1 smooth and stress-free. Everything we do revolves around fun and broad (talent) development. Toddlers play and learn together with peers. We tailor activities to their world of experience and follow a clear daily rhythm. Through challenging activities and the Early Childhood Education (VVE) programme we stimulate social, motor and cognitive development. Children take part in the school’s theme activities and regularly play alongside the kindergarten pupils. This promotes social interaction and makes the move to primary school feel natural. At It Werflân we work bilingually: we speak both Dutch and Frisian. Together with SFBO (Sintrum Frysktalige Berne-opfang) we encourage language development in a playful way and strengthen children’s social and intellectual skills. If your child has another home language, we can use specific words from that language during moments of comfort – the ‘comfort language’ – so your child feels extra secure. Our toddler care is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. During the morning your toddler enjoys a cosy lunch with us.
