POV Kinderwoud Djerreblomkes

Welcome to POV Kinderwoud Djerreblomkes, located in the Integral Child Centre (IKC) ‘de Leister Igge’ at Healwei 3 in Opeinde. We provide small-scale toddler care for up to 16 children aged 2 to 4 years. Our qualified pedagogical staff ensure that every child feels safe and secure while learning and growing through play. At Djerreblomkes we work with one horizontal peer group. This means all toddlers of the same age play and learn together. We offer two fixed morning sessions per week: Monday and Thursday or Tuesday and Friday. This regularity gives children stability and familiarity, and eases the transition to primary school later on. Our activities are specifically tailored to the developmental stage of toddlers. We consciously focus on language development through reading aloud, singing and conversations. In addition, we stimulate creative development with simple crafts and free play with various materials. Everything revolves around discovering, experiencing and having fun. We believe it is important that parents stay involved. Therefore we have an active parent committee that contributes ideas about the content of our programme.
