PO de Wijde Wereld

Welcome to KDV PO de Wijde Wereld, located within the Montessori Child Centre at Haya van Somerenpad 1, Haarlem. We provide care for babies and toddlers aged 0 to 4 in a warm, homely environment designed according to Maria Montessori’s educational principles. Our day-care centre consists of three groups: one baby group and two toddler groups. The spacious, bright rooms are furnished with natural materials—wooden cylinder blocks, trays with dry rice and grain, easels and cutting-and-pasting supplies. Children are free to choose what they wish to explore; we guide them with the motto “Help me to do it myself”. Music plays an important role: we sing together, use a rich collection of instruments and celebrate birthdays with music in a circle. Our large, secure outdoor playground—complete with playhouse and traffic track—offers plenty of space to move and play together. Thanks to close cooperation with the Montessori primary school in the same building, children experience a smooth, familiar transition when they leave the toddler care. Our dedicated pedagogical staff are ready every day to give your child a safe, stimulating place to flourish.
