Welcome to PIT Christian Child Centre Het Akkoord, located at Hoendersekade 2 in the heart of Zwijndrecht. As part of PIT Childcare & Education, we have been providing Christian after-school care (BSO) for children aged 4 to 13 since 2011. With 66 officially registered BSO places (LRK number 107824516), we offer a safe and inspiring environment where children can grow within a warm Christian community after school hours. Our pedagogical staff – all proud PIT’ers – work as one close-knit team driven by a single mission: every child has the right to develop. We achieve this through play, playful learning, learning and learning-through-play along a continuous developmental line. We believe children excel only when they feel both safe and happy. That is why our motto is central: “Growing together with joy!” Het Akkoord is a true Integral Child Centre (IKC). In addition to the BSO, we cooperate closely with the Christian primary school and the toddler playgroup under one roof, ensuring that childcare, education and leisure activities flow seamlessly together. We offer a wide range of activities: creative craft and drawing corners, a cosy reading nook, music and singing sessions, sports and movement activities in our garden, as well as nature and discovery projects. We regularly organise outings to the neighbourhood, the park or cultural sites in and around Zwijndrecht. Our premises feature a spacious, green outdoor playground with climbing frames, a sandpit and plenty of room for football or tag. Inside, there is a homely living room, a creative workshop and separate corners for quiet games or homework guidance. We follow a fixed daily routine: upon arrival there is time for a story or song, after which children can freely choose activities. Around 5 p.m. we share freshly topped sandwiches, fruit and drinks. We take allergies and dietary requirements into account; parents simply inform us via the PIT app. Our Christian identity is self-evident. We sing songs from “Kind op Maandag” together, celebrate Christmas and Easter and hold an annual joint service with the local church. We believe every child should feel heard, seen and known.
