Pippeloentje

Peuteropvang Pippeloentje is located in community centre Van Ons at Norbertplein 2 in Gennep, right next to primary school De Ratel. Our homely group room welcomes up to 16 toddlers and is divided into themed play corners that match the world of 2- to 4-year-olds. You will find a cosy doll corner, a sturdy building and car corner, a climbing frame with slide and – very popular – an indoor sandpit for sandcastles even when it rains outside. We follow a themed programme aligned with VVE-Peuter (Early Childhood Education). Every week we choose a book that fits the current theme. We read this book daily, so the children remember the stories better and expand their vocabulary in a playful way. While reading aloud we not only stimulate language development but also concentration and imagination. Older pupils from De Ratel are regularly invited to come and read to us; our toddlers love this and it strengthens the bond with the primary school. Outside we have a spacious, safe playground with a sandbox and plenty of moving equipment. When the weather is nice we picnic outside and use bikes, balls and ride-on toys to stimulate gross motor skills. We also organise trips to the playground, petting zoo or simply take a short walk through the neighbourhood. These activities contribute to social and physical development and teach the children to explore their surroundings. Our experienced pedagogical staff provide a warm, safe environment in which every child can be themselves. We work in a horizontal group, so children play with peers and can inspire each other. In short, no toddler is ever bored at Pippeloentje and every child is given the space to grow at his or her own pace.
