Pippeloentje

Welcome to Peuterspeelzaal Pippeloentje, located at Hoofdweg 47 in Loenen, right behind the Roman-Catholic church in the parish hall. We are a foundation that has been offering a warm, safe place for toddlers aged 2 to 4 for many years. Our mission is straightforward: let children play together and develop in a homely atmosphere. Every morning – Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 08:15 to 12:45 – two dedicated, enthusiastic preschool teachers work with a maximum of 16 toddlers. They are supported by at least one parent-helper, ensuring plenty of personal attention. The day starts calmly: parents bring their child inside, hang up the coat and place the bag on its regular spot. Each child has a name-and-photo tag that is hung on the attendance board. After that, toddlers choose where they want to play: the construction corner, car corner, kitchen corner or dolls’ corner. At 08:45 we sit in a circle. We sing the welcome song, call each other by name and read a story that matches the weekly theme. These themes are also used during the creative activities that follow: crafting, drawing, reading aloud or a small-group game. We observe every child’s development so that language and speech are stimulated in a playful way. Half-way through the morning we enjoy fruit, thick juice and water. We sit together at the table, practise waiting for one another and learn the names of the fruit. After tidying up we go outside when the weather is nice. Our spacious, secure playground invites running, cycling, sand-pit adventures and cooperative play. Gross motor skills are given full rein here. Around 11:45 we read the weekly book once more, sing the goodbye song and it is time to be picked up. We always take a moment for a brief chat with parents; anyone who wishes to discuss more can make a separate appointment. Peuterspeelzaal Pippeloentje works closely with the primary schools in Loenen, ensuring a smooth transition later on. Registration is possible up to one year in advance for one, two or three mornings per week. Child-care allowance has been available since 1 January 2018.
