Located inside the Pieter van der Plas primary-school building at Pieter van der Plasstraat 22 in Wateringen, ZON! childcare offers before-school care (VSO) for children aged 4 to 13. Every school day we open at 07:30 with a warm welcome and an optional breakfast. After that the children play together until it is time to go to class. Our pedagogical staff create a safe and stimulating environment in which children can develop freely. We focus on three pillars: nature, culture and sport. These are reflected in our daily programme. Children are invited to share ideas and preferences during the children’s council meetings, so the activities always match what they enjoy. In the morning we pick the children up from school by cargo bike and bring them to our spacious, green location. Outdoor play is central: we have a large garden with small animals and a vegetable patch where children learn about growth and care. We regularly organise trips to the Hofpark, the windmill, the library or swimming pool De Waterman. Parents experience our service as committed, flexible and child-centred.
