PG Mundo de Singel

Peutergroep de Singel is part of Stichting Mundo and is located in the beautiful new Integral Child Centre (IKC) de Singel at Singel 5 in Schiedam. We provide toddler care for children aged 2.5 to 4 years during the 40 school weeks. Our classroom is adjacent to Group 1 of the primary school, ensuring a smooth transition later on. We work thematically; every six weeks we choose a new theme that connects to the children’s world of experience. Examples include discovering fruit and buying it in our vegetable shop, searching for insects in the nature garden, or doing toddler gymnastics together. We stimulate language, motor skills and social development through lots of talking, moving and playing together. We regularly join activities organised by the school and the day-care centre in the same building, such as visiting the after-school care group where an older sibling is present. Our large green nature garden is an outdoor classroom where children can run, explore and get wonderfully dirty. We share the garden with the primary school and the day-care centre, yet have enough space to organise our own activities. The toddler group is staffed by permanent pedagogical professionals who follow each child’s development and prepare them well for the transition to primary school.
