Peuterstart Beertjes Burch

Peuterstart Beertjes Burch is a small-scale daycare centre on the ground floor of the Beertjes Burch child centre at Steekterweg 29 in Alphen aan den Rijn. We provide care for up to 16 children aged 0 to 4 years. Our spacious, green garden borders the Old Rhine and offers plenty of opportunities to play, explore and grow outdoors. The youngest children nap outside in special outdoor cribs under a canopy, so they get fresh air while resting safely and peacefully. Inside we work in two age groups: a baby group (0-2 years) and a toddler group (2-4 years). Each group has its own homely space with soft colours, natural materials and play corners that match the children's developmental stage. Our pedagogical staff provide pre-school education (VE) through the ‘Startblokken’ programme. Through play we stimulate language development, numeracy and social skills. We craft with paint, clay and natural materials, build with large blocks and sing songs together. Children are given every opportunity to be themselves. We follow the child's rhythm: those who still want a bottle are given time; those who want to play will always find an inviting corner. Parents bring their own nappies, formula and any special food; we provide a warm, safe environment in which their child can grow up.
