Peuterspeelzaal Ukkepuk

Welcome to Peuterspeelzaal Ukkepuk, part of Stichting Spelentere. We share one site with two primary schools, a speech therapist, a day-care centre, a child health clinic and a library. This special partnership makes Ukkepuk a lively place where children aged 2 to 4 learn and grow through play. We follow the Speelpleziermethodiek: our experienced pedagogical staff provide professional care in which every child is given space to develop at his or her own pace. We use vertical grouping, so children of different ages play and learn together, learning from one another and developing socially and emotionally. As a VVE centre (Early Childhood Education) we build a strong foundation in language and thinking skills. We read aloud every day in our own library, sing songs and make use of the rich languages present in our multicultural group. Through play we practise vocabulary, numeracy and social skills. Our site has 32 places and is open Monday to Friday. Parents can choose half or full days, whatever suits the family best. Together with you we ensure that your child starts primary school confidently and with a smile.
