Peuterspeelzaal 't Opstapje

Peuterspeelzaal 't Opstapje is a specialized daycare facility operated by Stichting Peuterspeelzaal Extra Lelystad (SPEL), located within the Wereldwijs Child Centre at Kwelder 2 in Lelystad. We provide a safe and stimulating environment for toddlers aged 2 to 4 years who require additional care and guidance in areas such as motor skills, speech and language development, or sensory processing. Our approach centers on the social and emotional well-being of the child. We believe that children can only play and learn when they feel safe and secure. Therefore, we offer a consistent daily routine with familiar pedagogical staff. Every morning is different, yet always recognizable for the toddlers. We work in small groups, ensuring each child receives the attention they need. We place great emphasis on healthy development. For a snack, the toddlers eat fruit – each child brings a piece that we clean and share. We drink water. We regularly engage in gymnastics in the school gym and spend ample time playing outdoors, giving the toddlers a healthy start. We also utilize the VE program 'Uk en Puk', which aligns with the toddlers' world and playfully stimulates language and vocabulary. The toddler group is open nine sessions per week: mornings from 9:00 to 11:30 AM and afternoons from 1:30 to 4:00 PM. We are closed on Wednesday afternoons and follow the school holidays. We are here for all toddlers, but have a special place in our hearts for children who need a little extra support. Together, we learn every day.
