Peuterspeelzaal 't Haimstee

Peuterspeelzaal ’t Haimstee is located on the premises of CBS ’t Haimstee at Linge 24 in Veendam. We provide pre-school education (VE) for children aged 2 to 4 years in partnership with Kinderopvang Bamba. Our pre-school playgroup is officially registered in the National Childcare Register under number 333820617 and has a capacity of 16 children. We follow the VE-certified Piramide programme by CITO, which stimulates language, cognitive, social-emotional and motor development through play. Each morning starts with a circle-time discussion, followed by theme-based activities such as crafts, free play in themed corners (kitchen, cars, reading area) and physical exercise in the nearby Oxygym gym. Every month we explore a new theme such as ‘the supermarket’, ‘spring’ or ‘transport’. Children take their artwork home so parents can see what they have been working on. Our room is bright, cheerfully decorated and fitted with low cupboards so children can choose their own activities. We have a secure outdoor playground that we use when weather permits. A separate nap room with bunk beds is available for the youngest; children who still sleep in a pram may nap outside under supervision. Peuterspeelzaal ’t Haimstee is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. Parents can opt for the VE-Peuterochtend (6 hours) or a combination of morning and afternoon sessions. We value close communication with parents: twice a year we schedule 10-minute progress meetings and we contact parents immediately if we notice anything remarkable.
