KDV Pluk Brunssum West

Pluk Brunssum West (formerly known as ’t Hummelhutje) is part of Stichting CMWW and is located in the Treebeek Community School at Wijenweg 143B in Brunssum. We provide care for up to 32 toddlers divided into two vertical groups: the Froggies and the Sheep. Each room accommodates 16 children with a supervision ratio of one professional caregiver per eight children. Children are welcome from the age of 2 and can attend for a minimum of 8 hours per week, spread across self-chosen sessions. Target group children are offered 16 hours per week. We follow the VVE programme “Speelplezier”, a recognised early childhood education method aimed at increasing children's chances of a successful school career. This approach consists of development-stimulating play and learning routines that recur daily within a fixed daily rhythm, using themes that connect to the toddler’s world of experience. We have two classrooms, a playroom and our own outdoor play area. The space allows us to stimulate all areas of development. Our professional, enthusiastic and qualified pedagogical staff work in a child-centred way: we look at what a child needs from us at any given moment. We value partnership with parents and therefore organise activities several times a year where parents are involved, such as a Christmas-Easter brunch and the project “Looking into the classroom”. Our opening hours are Monday to Friday from 8:45 AM to 12:45 PM. You are very welcome to come and take a look, but please call in advance so we can make time for you.
