De Aquamarijn Peutergroep Madelief

Peutergroep Madelief is a warm, homely toddler group located at Willem Arondeusstraat 59 in Middelburg. We provide care for children aged 2.5 to 4 years in our own building, the Pavilion, beautifully situated on the grounds of De Aquamarijn Free School. Since January 2025, we have been part of ISTIA childcare, allowing us to continue developing and strengthening our anthroposophical vision. At Madelief, we work according to the pedagogical principles of the Free School. Stimulating your child's total development through play is central to our approach. Within various themes that connect with the seasons, annual festivals, and the child's world of experience, we offer activities such as table play, movement play, and sensory play. We celebrate the annual festivals together and let children naturally become acquainted with rhythm and seasons. Children initially come to Madelief for two morning sessions per week and are placed in a fixed core group. We work with four core groups: Monday-Wednesday, Monday-Thursday, Tuesday-Thursday, and Tuesday-Friday. It is possible to add an extra session, in consultation with our pedagogical staff and based on availability. Our opening hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 12:45 PM during school weeks. During school holidays and public holidays, we are closed. We offer your child a familiar, pleasant, and safe second home where they can be themselves. Our garden invites outdoor play, and when weather permits, we spend plenty of time outside. For parents, we are a place where they can confidently bring their child.
