Peuterspeelzaal Klein Duimpje

Peuterspeelzaal Klein Duimpje is located in the quiet village of Daarlerveen, at Gerard Nijlandstraat 4. We are part of the Stichting Peuterspeelzalen Gemeente Hellendoorn (SPGH) and have been offering a safe, familiar place for toddlers aged 2–4 since 1993. Our bright, spacious rooms are arranged into inviting corners: a construction area with large blocks, a home corner for caring for dolls, a reading nook with picture books, and an art studio where we paint, craft or model every day. Outside, children enjoy a secure green playground with a sandpit, slide, seesaw and ride-on toys. We go outside almost every morning because fresh air and movement are essential for healthy development. Activities are tailored to the world of toddlers: we sing songs together, hold circle-time talks, make music with simple instruments and practise gross-motor skills during gym sessions. We follow the official Early Childhood Education programme ‘Speelplezier’. This structured curriculum stimulates language, thinking, numeracy and social skills in a playful way. Weekly themes such as ‘Animals’, ‘The Forest’ or ‘The Season’ are woven into stories, songs and craft projects. Our permanent, qualified staff observe each child closely and adapt activities to individual developmental stages. Parents experience our pre-school as warm and involved.
