Peuterspeelzaal De Wereldwijzer

Welcome to Peuterspeelzaal De Wereldwijzer, part of the Integral Child Centre (IKC) De Wereldwijzer located at Erasmusplein 1 in Vlaardingen. We provide toddler care for children aged 2 to 4 years in a safe, small-scale and stimulating environment. Our group is called ‘De Praatjesmakers’ and follows a horizontal structure: all children in this group are between 2 and 4 years old. We believe in preparing children for primary school through play and learning. That’s why we follow a continuous developmental line that aligns with the early years groups at IKC De Wereldwijzer. We offer Early Childhood Education (VVE), with extra focus on language development and social skills. Our qualified childcare staff work closely with the primary school teachers to ensure a smooth transition. Our spaces are designed like a home, with different play corners including a reading area, construction zone and creative corner. We have our own vegetable garden where children learn about fruit and vegetables, and we place great emphasis on healthy eating. Music lessons with singing and instruments are provided by a specialist teacher. We work thematically and use the ‘Vreedzaam’ method, which teaches children how to interact with others and manage emotions. The toddler group is open Monday to Thursday from 08:30 to 12:30. We are closed on Fridays. We offer flexible drop-off and pick-up times to fit around your work or study schedule. Communication with parents is done through the Konnect app, where we share photos, reports and important updates. We also run regular parent and child groups on Wednesday mornings, where you can play with your child and meet other parents. We warmly invite you to come and see us for an informal visit and tour.
