IKC de Rietzee peuteropvang Speelboot

Peuterspeelzaal de Speelboot is part of Integral Child Centre (IKC) de Rietzee and has been a familiar name in the Reitdiep neighbourhood for many years. We provide care and development for toddlers aged 2 to 4 in a small-scale, safe setting with a maximum of 16 places. Guided by one pedagogical vision, our staff work closely with the primary school so that your child experiences a continuous development path from toddler to infant. Our day runs from 8.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. During these three hours play-based learning is central. We work thematically, sparking children’s natural curiosity with topics that connect to their world—seasons, animals, traffic, or exploring colours and shapes. Play and discovery are key: we craft, sing, dance, read aloud and regularly go outside to explore in our own garden or on short neighbourhood outings. Creative expression is given plenty of room. We use a variety of materials such as paint, clay, sand and natural finds. Music is part of the day: we sing familiar songs, make our own instruments and listen to different kinds of music. During outdoor play children develop gross motor skills on our safe play equipment, with bikes, balls and a sandpit. In between there is time for a healthy snack of fruit and a drink. We accommodate food allergies and dietary needs. There is also space for rest: children who are tired can relax in our quiet corner with books and soft toys. Parents are never just a number to us. Personal contact is important. At drop-off and pick-up there is always time for a brief chat. We have a parent committee and keep you informed through a monthly newsletter.
