Peuterspeelzaal de Robbedoes

Welcome to Peuterspeelzaal de Robbedoes, the trusted toddler care centre in the heart of Nijverdal. We are located on the ground floor of primary school De Reggehoek at Nicolaas Beetsstraat 6a, right next to the shopping centre and within walking distance of the train station. Children aged 2 to 4 can play, explore and grow with us two, three or four half-days a week in a safe, homely environment. Our playroom is set up according to the principles of the Early Childhood Education (ECE) programme. We use the language and development programme ‘Piramide’, with themes such as seasons, animals, traffic and emotions. Every morning starts with a circle in which we sing, read aloud and talk with Puk and his friends about the theme of the week. Afterwards, children can choose for themselves: building with large blocks in the construction corner, crafting at the creativity table, role-playing in the play corner or romping around in the garden. We deliberately work with age-homogeneous groups of up to sixteen toddlers, so that we can respond well to the world of experience of this age group. In between, there is always a healthy piece of fruit and water or unsweetened tea. We take into account food allergies and dietary requirements that parents indicate at registration. Children are given plenty of time to learn to clean up, tidy up and put on and take off their coats themselves; self-reliance is important to us. Around 10.30 a.m. we go outside. Our enclosed playground is directly behind the school and offers plenty of room to run, sand and swing. In bad weather we use the school’s gym. We work closely with primary school De Reggehoek and Partou’s toddler school in the same building. This way, the children already know the corridors, the teachers and the rituals when they move on to group 1. Parents experience this as a great advantage.
