Peuterspeelzaal de Rakkertjes

Peuterspeelzaal de Rakkertjes is a small-scale toddler group in the heart of Haarle, located at Pastoor Langedijkstraat 1. We are part of the Stichting Peuterspeelzalen Gemeente Hellendoorn (SPGH) and welcome children aged 2 to 4 on two fixed mornings each week. Our doors are open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:15 AM to 12:15 PM. At De Rakkertjes we follow a predictable daily rhythm that provides calm and structure. The morning starts with a joint circle time, after which children use choice cards to indicate where they want to play. In this way they encounter other children and learn to make choices. In our spacious group room you will find a home corner, construction corner, craft corner and a sand table. We have our own outdoor playground that we use almost every morning; outdoor play stimulates both motor skills and the child’s brain. Pre-school education (VE) is an important part of our programme. Our pedagogical staff are VE-trained and offer challenging activities focused on language, numeracy, social skills and motor development. We work with themes that connect to the toddler’s world and use methods that are also applied in primary school. Together with primary school Op Weg, located at the same address, we create a continuous learning pathway and a smooth transition to primary education. We provide shared eating and drinking moments. Fruit, cherry tomatoes or other vegetable snacks are served and water or tea is always available. Nappies are not included; parents bring their own. Because we use a horizontal group structure, children play in a fixed age group of 2-4 years. This supports development and keeps the group process clear.
