Peuterspeelzaal De Peutersoos

De Peutersoos in Westeremden is a special playgroup that is entirely run by parents and volunteers. We are an association, which means that all parents are members and have a say in how our playgroup is run. The association was founded in 2012 by a group of parents who felt it was important to maintain a facility for toddlers in the village after the previous playgroup closed its doors in 2010. We are located in the Abt Emo school at Huizingerweg 7A in Westeremden. Our mornings are led by qualified teachers, assisted by enthusiastic volunteers. We comply with all legal quality requirements for playgroup work and are inspected annually by the GGD. It is possible to apply for childcare allowance for care at our facility. Our playgroup is intended for children aged 2 to 4 years. We offer learning through play, utilizing the spaces and facilities of the primary school. We regularly organize fun outings, such as visits to a small petting zoo where children can pet and feed animals. The children can enjoy fruit and drinks during the play mornings. We do not receive municipal subsidies but are fully funded by the efforts of volunteers, parental contributions, sponsorships and grants from companies and funds, and the proceeds from our annual door-to-door campaign. This allows us to provide a safe and enjoyable playgroup experience for toddlers in Westeremden and the surrounding areas. With our fixed team of teachers and volunteers, communication lines are short and the atmosphere is informal. There is currently still room for new toddlers!
