Peuterspeelzaal de Hummelhoek

Peuterspeelzaal de Hummelhoek is located at Burgemeester Versteeghsingel 5b in Edam and is part of CBW Edam-Volendam. We provide toddler care for children from 2 years old in a warm, safe environment where play, discovery and learning are central. Our playgroup is open every weekday from 08:30 to 12:30 and from 13:00 to 17:00 (closed Wednesday afternoon). You can choose a morning or afternoon group to fit your family's rhythm. The groups are led by qualified toddler teachers who understand how important play is for your child's development. They create a rich environment with play materials and activities that perfectly match the world of toddlers. Children can enjoy playing together, doing crafts, singing and being read to. We pay a lot of attention to language: in a playful way, children learn new words and sentences. Their Dutch keeps improving, which helps them get a good start at primary school. For children with an early childhood education indication, we offer four sessions per week so they receive extra language stimulation. Outside there is a safe garden where children can ride bikes, climb and romp. By playing together they learn to take each other into account, share and deal with rules. We believe it's important that your child dares to move outside the familiar family setting and can explore their own interests. Parents are always welcome to come and see or have a chat; we value the contact between parents and our teachers.
