Peuterspeelgroep 't Kwetternest

Peuterspeelgroep ’t Kwetternest is located in the De Samensprong broad-based school at Laweijstraat 10 in Haulerwijk. We provide care for up to 32 toddlers aged 2 to 4 years. As part of Stichting Scala, we stand for small-scale, safe and development-oriented childcare in which every child is given the space to grow at his or her own pace. Our day starts outdoors; cycling, running, hiding, climbing and clambering on the playground make the morning complete. Afterwards we move inside to build, cut, paste and model clay. We sing, dance, read a book and have dress-up parties. Often we do this with the whole group, but sometimes also with a smaller group so that we can pay extra attention to each child’s development. We follow a fixed daily rhythm so that the children know where they stand, and every six weeks we change themes. Think of ‘Enjoy your meal!’, ‘My family and I’ or ‘Phew, it’s hot!’. We adapt the play materials accordingly and actively involve parents in the activities so that words and songs can also be practised at home. Our playgroup is VVE-certified and uses the Uk & Puk programme. This programme focuses on language development, early numeracy and social-emotional growth. We lay a solid foundation for Dutch language proficiency so that toddlers can start primary school with confidence. Conveniently, nappies are included in the price and for snacks we serve fruit, cherry tomatoes or other vegetable snacks. Through the parent portal we keep parents informed with photos and a daily diary so that they can still share a little in what their child experiences.
