de Woelwaters

Peuterspeel- and leergroep de Woelwaters is located inside the primary school ’t Tuselant at Duinroosstraat 2 in Den Helder. We provide care for children aged 2 to 4 in a bright, cosy space with plenty of snug corners. The room is divided into several play and learning areas: a construction corner where children can build and create, a kitchen corner for pretend cooking, a quiet reading corner with picture books and a creative corner for crafts and painting. This allows every child to play and explore at their own pace. At de Woelwaters we use Early Childhood Education (VE). This means that our activities and play materials are matched to the developmental stage of the toddler. We stimulate language, numeracy, motor skills and social abilities through targeted games, songs and stories. Our pedagogical staff carefully observe the children and offer each child the challenge that suits them. We work closely with primary school ’t Tuselant, ensuring a smooth transition to the reception class. Outside, the children can play in the school’s spacious, green playground. There is a sandpit, a play house with slide and plenty of room to run, cycle or build with large blocks. We go outside almost every day unless the weather really does not allow it. Of course we make sure the children are well protected from sun, rain or cold. The group is small and manageable: a maximum of 15 children per session. We work with horizontal groups, so the activities are perfectly tailored to the age and development of the toddlers. Parents can choose morning or afternoon sessions, or a combination of both. We are open on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings and afternoons. Wednesday is our fixed study day. Our team consists of experienced pedagogical staff who know how important a safe, familiar environment is for toddlers. We take time for each child and are always open to questions or conversations with parents. Together we ensure that the children feel at home at de Woelwaters and enjoy coming to play.
