Peuterschool t Kwetternest

Welcome to Peuterschool ’t Kwetternest, located at Molenweg 27 in the heart of Wijdenes. Under the umbrella of Kappio, we have provided small-scale, educational childcare for children aged 2 to 4 since 1959. Play-based learning is at our core: children explore the world together with peers, practise Dutch language skills and get gently acquainted with the rhythm and structure of primary school. We follow the recognised Early Childhood Education programme Uk & Puk. Themes such as ‘My family and me’, ‘Enjoy your meal!’ and ‘Phew, it’s hot!’ tie in with toddlers’ everyday experiences and return every six weeks in a new cycle. In small circles we expand vocabulary, count, sing and dance, craft with clay and paint, and read picture books aloud. Parents receive explanations and take-home activity sheets for every theme, so the fun can continue at home. Our group is cosy and manageable: a maximum of 16 children each morning or afternoon, guided by permanent, qualified pedagogical staff who are all certified in Early Childhood Education. Nappies and a healthy piece of fruit or vegetable as a snack are included, saving parents packing time. A predictable daily rhythm helps every child feel secure, and we share photos and short reports through our parent portal so you stay involved in what your son or daughter experiences. Peuterschool ’t Kwetternest is open on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8:30 to 11:30. Feel free to drop by; we are happy to show you our colourful space and tell you more about our approach.
