Peuteropvang Willem Eggert

Peuteropvang Willem Eggert is part of Kindcentrum Willem Eggert, located at Jan van Egmondstraat 14 in the centre of Purmerend. We provide care and development for children aged 2 to 4 in a warm, safe environment where education and childcare blend seamlessly. Our centre follows one clear pedagogical vision: we see it as a living community in which every child has a voice, feels seen and learns to make decisions together. We use the ‘Vreedzaam’ method, a programme for social competence and democratic citizenship. The toddler group is housed in a modern, bright building next to the deer park and within walking distance of the city centre. We work with horizontal groups: toddlers stay with peers so that activities perfectly match their developmental stage. Each day our pedagogical staff offer a varied programme centred on play, singing, dancing and discovery. We read aloud, craft, build and make music. In addition, we collaborate with regular partners such as Spurd, Wherelant Music School Waterland and NKT, who visit weekly for sports, dance & music and creative workshops. Outside we have a secure green garden where children can run, explore and play with natural materials. We also organise small excursions in the immediate area. For naps there are separate, quiet sleeping rooms with beds and cots. In between we serve a healthy bread meal and fresh fruit, taking any allergies or dietary requirements into account. Parents stay informed through our Parent App: we share photos, stories and practical information.
