Peuteropvang Spijkerhoek

Peuteropvang Spijkerhoek is part of Stichting Kindercentra Gorinchem (SKG) and located inside primary school CBS de Hoeksteen in the village of Spijk. We provide small-scale care for a maximum of 14 children aged 2 to 4 years. Our setting on Nieuwe Schoolstraat 1 is centrally positioned and easily accessible for families living in Spijk and the surrounding area. By deliberately keeping the group small we can give every toddler the calm, attention and security that is so essential during this stage of development. The rooms are designed for young children: compact, clear and inviting to play and explore. A consistent team of qualified pedagogical staff really gets to know your child and responds to his or her individual needs and daily rhythm. At Spijkerhoek learning through play is central. We offer a programme on two mornings each week in which language, motor skills, social abilities and independence are stimulated in a playful way. Activities are tailored to the world of toddlers: we read stories, sing, craft, build and play both indoors and outdoors. Our garden and the school playground provide plenty of space to run, climb and discover. We believe it is important that parents and children feel at home quickly. Therefore we work with a fixed team, clear agreements and short lines of communication. You can join us for two fixed mornings a week; half-days are standard. This rhythm dovetails perfectly with the transition to primary school. Together we make the move from home to school as smooth as possible.
