Peuteropvang Sjakie in de Chocoladefabriek is centrally located in the Prinsenland district at Marie van Eijsden-Vinkstraat 430 in Rotterdam. We are part of gro-up Kinderopvang and provide toddler care for children aged 2 to 4. As soon as they arrive, the children often dash straight to our entrance hall where a large climbing and sliding frame exerts an irresistible pull. If it is occupied, they can choose from various play platforms stocked with construction materials or a play kitchen. We work with themes; every six weeks we launch a new theme, always introduced by a coffee morning for parents. During these mornings you can see what your child will be working on in the coming period. If you would like to continue the activities at home, we provide ideas and materials. Our pedagogical staff create the right activities and stimuli so that children can play and explore to their heart’s content. Physical activity is central to our approach. We follow the Lekker Fit! programme and devote extra attention to movement activities. We also have our own vegetable garden and regularly take the children to the nearby grass field with play equipment. In addition, we offer pre-school education (VE), preparing your child for primary school in a playful way. We regard parents as partners in upbringing.
