Peuteropvang Polderrijk

Welcome to Peuteropvang Polderrijk, the second home for toddlers in the heart of Lekkerkerk. We are located in the beautiful ‘Ons Gebouw’ at Koninginneweg 3, where—together with the Centre for Youth and Family, the toy library and other partners—we create a warm nest full of love, challenge and fun. Every morning our close-knit team of certified, caring pedagogical staff welcomes up to 16 toddlers aged 2 to 4. Everything we do revolves around learning through play. We provide a rich, age-specific environment with a challenging climbing and play corner, a dolls’ corner complete with toy coffee machine, and a large garden where children can cycle, slide and romp to their hearts’ content. Movement is key: it builds toddlers’ confidence and strengthens their motor skills. We also work systematically with the language-stimulation programme Puk & Ko. Through playful practice of songs, stories, colours, shapes and numbers we lay a solid foundation in Dutch and ensure a smooth transition to primary school. Parents stay closely involved. Via our parent app Konnect you receive personal photos, messages and the daily report, so you can literally follow your child’s adventures. We organise the annual cosy library reading breakfast and take regular short walks in the neighbourhood: a quick look at a building site or a breath of fresh air broadens the toddlers’ world. Peuteropvang Polderrijk is an accredited Early Childhood Education (VVE) location. Children with a language or developmental delay can receive extra guidance and attend four mornings a week. Our pedagogical staff are specially trained for this. Together we ensure that every child gets every opportunity to grow, make new friends and start primary school with confidence.
