Peuteropvang De Mende

Peuteropvang De Mende is part of Stichting Peuterwerk and located in Kindcentrum Emmer-Compascuum at Wikkel 5. We provide toddler care for children aged 2.5 to 4 years in a safe and positive environment where toddlers discover the world together with peers. Our location has one horizontal group for up to 16 children and a half-group for 8 toddlers, guided by three permanent pedagogical staff who are ready every day with passion and joy. We use the Uk & Puk method, focusing on language development, social-emotional development, motor and sensory development and early numeracy. The themes seamlessly connect to the toddlers’ world of experience and to the method used in grades 1 and 2, ensuring a smooth transition to primary school. Because we are located in the same building as the primary school, children already feel at home in their future school environment. Our activities are varied and stimulating: we sing, dance, do arts and crafts with paint, clay, paper and cardboard, make music and do gym. Outdoors we play extensively with sand, water and natural materials in our garden. We offer 16 hours of care per week during all school weeks, spread over two daily sessions according to a fixed schedule. All children receive fruit and drinks. Toddlers with a VVE indication receive extra support and parents pay only a minimal contribution. Together with parents we ensure that every child develops optimally. We are open to the child’s needs and provide structure with clear rules in a cosy, free atmosphere. Peuteropvang De Mende is the ideal preparation for primary education, where children start their school years with confidence.
