Peuteropvang De Braskörf

Welcome to Peuteropvang De Braskörf, located on the ground floor of primary school De Braskörf at Cornelis Jetseslaan 13 in Veendam. We provide toddler care specifically for children aged 2 to 4 years. As a VE (Early Childhood Education) location, all our pedagogical staff are VE-trained and we can offer an additional half-day session from age two for toddlers who need extra developmental stimulation. With us, toddlers discover the world through play. Nothing is mandatory; they are free to simply enjoy being children. Throughout the school year we work with themes that connect to toddlers' everyday experiences. The classroom is decorated to match each theme. We read aloud, do crafts, sing songs and occasionally organise fun excursions. During group activities children may also choose for themselves: quietly reading a book on the couch, building towers or making a beautiful drawing. Because we are housed within OBS De Braskörf we cooperate closely with the school. We occasionally play together with Year 1 and share fruit time. This makes the transition to primary school much easier: familiar surroundings and familiar faces. At the end of the toddler period a warm handover to primary school takes place. We closely monitor each child's development and discuss this regularly with parents. Every child is unique and develops at their own pace.
