Peuteropvang Berltsum It Hûnenêst is located in a quiet, traffic-free area at Ds H van Eyck van Heslingastrjitte 1 in Berltsum. As part of Stichting Kinderopvang Friesland we provide small-scale, professional care for up to 16 toddlers aged 2 to 4. Registered in the National Childcare Register since 1 July 2011 under number 196425748, parents are eligible for childcare allowance. We follow a bilingual programme: Frisian and Dutch. Through language activities in both languages we stimulate language development and strengthen children’s social and cognitive skills. Our activities are tailored to what the toddlers themselves want and are able to do; we continuously adapt games and challenges. Besides regular sports and movement sessions we frequently use the TOP arrangement and our exercise team. Experts such as a biologist, writer or world traveller drop by to experience something special together with the children. Extra attention is given to Early Childhood Education (VVE). We work closely with the policy team, child health clinic, speech therapy and the educational psychologist to support each child’s development optimally. Outdoors there is plenty of space to explore: a playground, a discovery forest and sports fields are situated right behind the school.
