We are part of Laurentius Kinderopvang and provide professional pre-school education in a safe and stimulating environment. Our centre is situated on the premises of primary school Het Baken, giving us access to a spacious gym and a designated outdoor play area. This space is specially designed for toddlers, with recognisable play corners such as a home corner, reading corner, construction corner and a theme corner. Currently we are working on the theme 'I am an artist', where children create their own artworks that are displayed in the group. We follow the VVE method Uk & Puk, a structured programme that stimulates children's development in the areas of language, numeracy, motor skills and social-emotional skills. This approach is offered in all groups and focuses on creating a continuous developmental line towards primary school. Each child's development is tracked via the digital child monitoring system KIJK!, with progress discussed with parents at fixed times. When transitioning to primary school, we ensure careful transfer of information so that the new teacher is well informed about your child's development. Our groups consist of a maximum of 16 children and are supervised by two permanent, qualified pedagogical staff members who hold a certificate in pre-school education. They have at least level 3F in Oral Language Proficiency and Reading. We maintain an open atmosphere where parents can join in play or read a book with their child every morning during the drop-in session. This is a nice opportunity to meet other parents and ask questions to our pedagogical staff. We value parental involvement and regularly organise parent meetings and drop-in sessions. Outdoor play is a fixed part of our programme. We use the primary school's outdoor playground at set times when no school children are present. The space is clearly demarcated and equipped with various outdoor play materials such as ride-on toys and tractors. Our location is fitted with many windows, allowing visibility from outside at all times. This contributes to a safe feeling for both children and parents. We allow 8 weeks for a careful settling-in period, during which we work together with parents to determine what is best for their child.
