Peutergroep 3+ Wierde

Peutergroep 3+ Wierde is a daycare centre (KDV) located on the ground floor of primary school GBS De Wierde at Aemckenheerd 2 in Winsum. We provide care for up to 22 toddlers aged 2 to 4 years. The toddler group is open on Wednesday and Friday from 08:30 to 11:45. Parents can opt for a fixed morning per week or for both sessions, allowing the schedule to fit the home situation. Our pedagogical staff work closely with the school teachers; children become familiar with the school building and its atmosphere at an early stage. Activities are tailored to the developmental stage of toddlers: we use themes, offer ample room for play and discovery, and focus on language, numeracy and social skills. We use the ‘Startblokken’ method from the Kaleidoscoop Early Childhood Education programme. The group is organised horizontally: children of the same age are together. Everything we do centres on creating a safe, familiar environment in which toddlers can grow and learn through play. We value parental involvement; there is plenty of opportunity for consultation and we keep parents informed through a dedicated group app and parent meetings.
