Peutergroep van Lith

Peutergroep van Lith is located on the ground floor of Montessorischool van Lith, right in the heart of vibrant Deventer-Centrum. In December 2017 we opened our doors in partnership with Stichting DOK13 and since then we have been offering a safe, small-scale environment for up to 16 toddlers aged 2 to 4, two days a week. Our space is fully arranged according to the Montessori philosophy: a prepared environment where children can choose, discover and learn at their own pace. We work with a horizontally structured group, bringing together children of the same age. This allows us to respond specifically to the developmental characteristics typical of this life stage. Our pedagogical staff closely observe the children and provide exactly the stimuli and guidance needed to foster independence, concentration and social skills. We follow Maria Montessori’s principle: “Help me to do it myself.” The morning starts at 8:30 with a communal moment; afterwards children are free to choose from activities such as arts & crafts, working with practical learning materials, language and numeracy exercises or exploring the nature garden. Around 10:00 we share fruit and drinks, after which there is plenty of room for play and development. At 12:30 (Wednesday) or 14:30 (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday) we close the day with a circle talk and a song. Peutergroep van Lith is open 48 weeks a year. During the first week of the summer holiday and the last two weeks we are still here for your child. Between Christmas and New Year’s Eve and on all national public holidays the group is closed. For parents who need extra care, we offer early-morning care from 7:15 every day; during a communal breakfast your child gets the calm start it deserves.
