Peuteropvang Grutje

Peuteropvang Grutje is a warm, small-scale toddler care centre run by Kind & Co Ludens, located in Brede School Het Palet at Rijneiland 4 in Odijk. We provide care for up to 16 toddlers aged 2 to 4. Our bright and spacious room can be extended into the adjacent after-school care space, helping children become familiar with the environment they will later use. At Grutje we follow the Pedagogisch Hart framework of Kind & Co Ludens. Children are given the space to feel safe and seen, so they can grow and discover. We offer a rich environment where play and learning meet. Together we form a mini-society: we learn from each other, play together and explore the world step by step. Our mornings are built around a fixed theme such as autumn, Sinterklaas, Christmas or fantasy. We start with free play, followed by a shared fruit moment where language and knowledge are offered in a playful way. Activities include drawing, language and maths games, singing and movement. Outdoor play is part of every day: we have a challenging garden with a sandpit, slide and plenty of room to cycle and run. Peuteropvang Grutje also provides Early Childhood Education (VE). We use the Uk & Puk method, giving extra attention to language development: speaking, listening and learning new words. Young children absorb language quickly, so this prepares them well for primary school. Parents are actively involved through our Parent App, where we share photos and reports of their child’s experiences. We are open Monday to Thursday during school weeks.
